The Team Beachbody Club


Working out is more fun and more effective when you have the proper tools and motivation…and a discount helps too!

I’ve had a lot of people ask me about they Club (What is it?  What are the benfits?  Why do I need it?)  So I thought I’d include it as one of the Team Beachbody programs and explain what it is and all the benefits it includes.

First and most important to me, is the Meal Planner.  While there are several other paid meal planners online (and a few free ones) this meal planner has by far been the easiest for me to use.  I have always liked the fact that it tells you how many servings/day of several different types of food is needed (eg. dairy, meat/beans, grains, fruits, water).  At one quick glance I can see if I need another vegetable serving or a grain. 

There are also two options to select for the meal plan – either the “Basic” meal plan or the “Custom” meal plan.  With both I am able to customize them for my sex, height, weight and activity level (or by Beachbody program) as well as my specific goal (to lose weight, maintain, etc).  With the Basic meal plan, it will select the recipes for me for up to three weeks including the ingredients and recipes as well as provide a shopping list for each week.  With the Custom meal plan, I can select the “Suggested Meal”, choose from other preset meals, enter one of my own meals or choose one of my saved meals I’ve used previously.  I still get the graphs and shopping list but I can set up my meals for up to two weeks (or more) at a time.  Michi’s Ladder (a multi-tiered food system) is also included for members (as well as with several of the programs) to help you figure out healthy eating options.

Along with the Meal Planner, as a Club member I have full access to the over 200 Team Beachbody recipes (foods that I know will fit into any program I am doing and help my results).  These are everything from breakfasts to side dishes to desserts!  These are things like Peppermint Brownies and Papaya Mango Fish; from BBQ Tri Tip to Blueberry Muffins…it’s all there!  (And, no, I won’t be posting these recipes…they are for Club members only!)  Not included in the recipes are the Thin Kitchen shows with Danny Teeson which offer an entirely different set of recipes for members!

There are several different calculators as a Club member including a body fat calculator (which I’ve found to be pretty accurate), a BMI calculator, a caloric needs calculator, and a target heart rate calculator.  There is also a detailed transformation tracker which I have used since beginning my programs with Beachbody in 2006.  It’s been interesting to see my improvements over time all in one place (and Idon’t have to worry about lost papers!)  There is also a diary to keep track of thoughts, struggles, obstacles and progress.

Club members are also entitled to watch Trainer’s Tips from each of the different Beachbody trainers on everything from how to swing your leg into a Warrior post to how to save your knees in any workout.  You also have access to articles from Beachbody experts on everything from nutrition to general health or fitness.  And when you have a question for Tony or want to ask Chalene where she buys her shoes, you can join in the weekly trainer chats or post on any of their blogs.  Got a question for Beachbody’s CEO, Carl Daikeler?  Just ask him on his blog and he’ll answer you!

More than any other benefit, I LOVE the DISCOUNT!!!  I’m ALL about saving money and being a Club member (which is cheaper than most menu planners online) gives you a 10% discount for your $38.87/quarter.  For less than a coffee ($2.99 weekly) you have access to everything on the Club as well as the discount AND no filling out that annoying form for your daily WOWY entry.  You’re automatically entered with every workout.
